Forage Type Turnip Seed is a solid choice if you want a strong brassica base in your deer food plots or a fall grazing boost for cattle. Plants come up fast, build a heavy canopy of greens, and grow big roots that deer and livestock really start working once cool weather sweetens them. The forage is naturally high in protein, giving animals a good bump in both energy and nutrition late in the season. In grazing systems, the tops will regrow until a hard frost, so you can get several passes out of the same planting when it’s managed well.

Additional Information
For best results, aim for a shallow planting depth around a quarter to half an inch in a firm seedbed so the stand comes up even. If you’re blending forage turnips with oats, rye, or clovers, back the turnip rate down so the brassicas don’t crowd everything else out and you keep feed in the plot longer. Rotating your brassica strips to a new spot every year or two also helps keep disease pressure in check and maintains better soil structure over time.
