Saddle Pads
A quality saddle pad protects the horse’s back and helps the saddle fit correctly — two things that matter every single ride. Felt pads, wool pads, contour pads, and standard square pads each distribute pressure differently under the saddle tree. A pad that’s too thin doesn’t provide enough cushion; one that’s too thick can change how the saddle sits and create pressure points. If your horse shows any sign of back soreness or reluctance to be saddled, the pad is one of the first things worth looking at.
