Go Karts

A Hammerhead go kart by Polaris is built with enough clearance and frame strength to handle the kind of ground most Ozarks properties dish out. Nixa Hardware & Seed Co carries multiple models in store, which makes it easier to compare sizes and talk through what fits the rider and the terrain before you load one up. Parts and service are handled here as well, so keeping one running doesn’t require a long drive or a waiting game with online shipping.

Find answers to common questions about Go Karts from the Nixa Hardware & Seed Co team.

How Fast Do Go Karts Go

Speed mostly depends on the engine size, but our Hammerhead Go Karts typically cruise between fifteen and thirty-five miles per hour. That is usually plenty of zip for a bumpy pasture without scaring the barn cats. Many of the models we carry have a speed-limiting bolt right under the gas pedal, which can be adjusted to keep the speed down while younger drivers are learning the ropes. Our team finds that these Go Karts provide just enough thrill to be fun, while still being sturdy enough to handle the rougher parts of the property without shaking your teeth loose.

Are Go Karts Street Legal

Generally speaking, the Hammerhead Go Karts we carry are strictly off-road machines and do not belong on the asphalt. Most local laws require blinkers, mirrors, and a license plate, which are things these Go Karts simply weren’t built to have. Around here, the suggestion is to keep the fun on the grass or the dirt trails where the only traffic you’ll encounter is a slow-moving tractor. It is much easier to explain your driving habits to a fence post rather than a sheriff with a ticket book, and honestly, the ride is much smoother on the turf anyway.
