Shovels & Scoops
A dependable shovel is one of the most essential tools on a farm or in a garden — digging planting holes, moving soil, trenching, transferring gravel, and a hundred other tasks that come up through the season. Round point shovels dig and turn soil, square point shovels move and transfer loose material, drain spades cut clean edges and dig narrow trenches, and hand scoops handle smaller jobs up close. Handle material matters too — fiberglass handles absorb impact and resist weather better than wood over the long run, though a good hickory handle is hard to beat for feel and repairability.
