Sponges & Scourers
Sponges, scouring pads, steel wool, and pumice scourers each tackle a different level of mess — a soft sponge handles everyday dish washing and countertop cleanup, while a heavy-duty scour pad or coarse steel wool goes after baked-on grease, rust, and stubborn buildup that softer materials won’t touch. Steel wool comes in grades from very fine to coarse, so matching the grade to the job keeps you from scratching surfaces you want to protect. A grout sponge is worth keeping separate from your regular kitchen sponges — it does a job nothing else does quite as well.
