This mortar is recommended for tiles up to 8″ x 8″, and may be used with larger tiles (up to 15″ on one side) if extended drying time is allowed. Coverage per gallon ranges from about 14 to 44 square feet depending on tile and trowel size. It complies with ANSI A136.1 Type I and provides strong adhesion on most common substrates in dry and some wet areas (such as shower walls and tub surrounds). Ensure the product is not used for installing backerboards to subfloors, over waterproof membranes, or for exterior or submerged applications. For best results, use only what can be tiled within 30 minutes, avoid exceeding a 3/16″ layer thickness, and allow 24 to 72 hours of drying before grouting, depending on tile size and conditions.
