For a sturdy installation, use T-posts spaced every 5 to 10 feet, or U-posts if the fence is short and temporary, and unroll the fence only as you work to keep it from kinking. When securing the fence to the posts, pull the mesh as taut as possible before attaching it with fence clips or wire ties; a tight fence is far less likely to sag over time or be pushed down by animals. Use heavy-duty bolt cutters or fencing pliers to cleanly cut the thick 14 gauge wire when you reach the end of your run.
