Because this is a 99% solution, it is extremely effective as a solvent and drying agent, but for general disinfection on most surfaces, it is actually more effective when slightly diluted. To achieve the common 70% concentration recommended by health experts for disinfection, mix approximately 7 parts of this alcohol with 3 parts of distilled water. Always store the gallon jug in a cool, well-ventilated area away from any sparks or open flame, as its high concentration makes it highly flammable.
