This Richelieu Aluminum Cable Ferrules & Stops 1/8” 2 pk is a must-have for anyone working with general-purpose wire rope or cable. If you’re running a tension wire for a trellis, making secure hangers, or fixing a piece of gym equipment, these ferrules and stops give you a finished connection that’s both clean and strong. They have just the right amount of softness to be easily crimped by a hand swager, ensuring the metal flows around the cable strands for a safe, permanent hold. Plus, the aluminum material won’t rust, so your work will hold up against moisture and weather, making it great for both indoor and outdoor projects.

Before you crimp, always thread the cable through the ferrule and wrap it around a thimble. This small, horseshoe-shaped fitting protects the cable from chafing and significantly increases the life and strength of the loop you’re creating. Once the thimble is in place and the ferrule is positioned, make your crimps with a swaging tool. That extra step of adding the thimble prevents the cable from bending too sharply, which is a common failure point over time.
