Red Rubber Mulch offers a smart way to maintain a vibrant landscape without the yearly chore of replacing rotted wood chips. This material provides a soft, cushioned feel underfoot, making it a favorite for garden paths or play areas where comfort is a priority. Unlike organic alternatives, it won’t wash away during a heavy downpour or blow into your neighbor’s yard on a gusty afternoon. You will notice that the deep crimson color stays bright throughout the hottest Missouri summers, giving your flower beds a finished, tidy look that stays consistent season after season.

Key Features of Red Rubber Mulch

Non-porous surface prevents the growth of mold and fungus in damp areas
Heavyweight composition keeps the material in place during seasonal storms
Helps retain soil moisture by reducing evaporation from the ground surface

Clean coating process ensures the red pigment won't rub off on clothes or paws
Provides a soft landing surface that meets safety standards for backyard play sets
Allows water and liquid fertilizers to drain straight through to plant roots
Resists decomposition to maintain its volume and coverage for many years

When installing this mulch, I always suggest laying down a medium-weight landscape fabric first to keep the rubber from mixing into the dirt over time. You should aim for a depth of roughly three inches for garden beds, but if you’re using it under a swing set, increasing that depth to six inches provides much better impact protection. Avoid using a metal-tined rake for maintenance; a flexible plastic leaf rake is much better for smoothing the surface without snagging the pieces.
