The Universal Metal Entrance Reducer is a heavy-duty, adjustable entrance reducer designed to fit 8-frame and 10-frame beehives. Made from durable 24-gauge baked-on white metal, this reducer uses a telescoping slider mechanism to easily switch between entrance sizes, allowing beekeepers to control hive access and ventilation throughout the year. Its universal design is based on research into optimal entrance sizes preferred by bees, helping to protect colonies from robbing, pests, and mice while still permitting the use of entrance feeders.

Screw holes are provided for optional fastening to the hive. The reducer’s reversible design features oblong holes on one side for bee movement and small holes on the other for ventilation during hive transport. Its robust construction ensures it can be left on the hive year-round, offering protection from mice, wasps, and robbing bees. This entrance reducer is compatible with entrance feeders and can be used with a variety of hive styles, including Langstroth, Flow, Layens, and Warre hives.
