The Ace Gold Braided Polypropylene Rope 3/8”x50’ is a supremely useful utility rope for a variety of tasks around the farm, home, and boat. Made from polypropylene, it’s naturally resistant to mildew, rot, and many common chemicals, so you don’t have to worry about leaving it out in the weather. The braided construction gives it a smooth, soft feel that is easy on the hands, and it holds knots securely. Crucially for marine or pond work, this rope is lightweight and floats in water. This 50-foot spool is perfect for everything from securing tarps and gear to marking off areas in the water.

Polypropylene ropes can be tricky to cut because the ends tend to fray immediately. To prevent this, use a sharp blade, and immediately after making the cut, hold the ends briefly over a heat source like a lighter or torch. This quickly melts the fibers together, or “fuses” the end, creating a permanent, clean seal that stops the braiding from unraveling and makes re-knotting much simpler.
