Before installing any rubber leg tip, accurately measure the outside diameter of your furniture leg. For a secure, lasting fit, the leg diameter should match the 5/8 inch inner size of the tip as closely as possible, as rubber does not stretch significantly. If you need to remove an old tip and the rubber is dry and brittle, cutting a small vertical slit in the side of the old rubber with a utility knife makes it easy to peel off without damaging the leg.
