To achieve truly tight and seamless corner joints when installing this casing, using a power miter saw is highly recommended. A 45 degree miter cut is standard for corners, but where walls are slightly out of square, the saw angle should be adjusted to match the actual wall angle. For the cleanest finish, secure the trim with finish nails, and apply a paintable acrylic caulk along the entire inner edge where the trim meets the drywall.
