For a secure, leak-proof hose connection, always use a stainless steel worm gear hose clamp directly behind the final barb ridge. Do not rely solely on the friction fit. When threading the 1/2 inch MPT end, use three to four wraps of high-quality PTFE thread seal tape—or a suitable thread sealant for plastic—to ensure a robust, non-leaking seal into your female pipe connection without overtightening or damaging the plastic threads.
