A very important note for safety: this zinc-plated steel is not weldable. When the zinc coating is heated, it releases toxic fumes that are hazardous if inhaled, so all assembly must be done using nuts and bolts through the pre-drilled slots. To create strong, stable connections for shelving, use appropriately sized carriage bolts in the slots, and tighten them down firmly to prevent any sway or movement in the finished structure.
