For the strongest repair, always make sure the surfaces you are bonding are completely clean and dry before applying the adhesive; using a little rubbing alcohol to wipe down vinyl or plastic helps tremendously. When fixing a tear, apply a thin layer to both sides, wait about two minutes until the glue is tacky, and then press the pieces firmly together. This method, known as contact bonding, creates a much stronger, more reliable fix than simply joining wet glue.
