Before installing any self-adhesive weatherstripping, always prepare the surface thoroughly. The surface must be perfectly clean and dry—clean the application area with rubbing alcohol and let it air dry before applying the tape. Once you place the strip, press it firmly along its entire length. This is crucial; if the adhesive doesn’t bond properly, the temperature changes and movement will cause the strip to peel off prematurely, compromising the seal.
