The MiTek 2-Sided Post Base 6”x6” is engineered to anchor 6″x6″ nominal wood posts securely to concrete footings in structural framing applications. Featuring a one-piece design formed from 14-gauge steel, this post base incorporates a G-185 triple zinc galvanized finish for enhanced corrosion resistance and long-lasting performance. A 1-inch integrated stand-off plate elevates the wood post above concrete, providing effective moisture protection as required by building codes. Designed to prevent post decay at ground level, this base supports both residential and commercial projects demanding structural reliability.

A minimum 2-inch edge distance from the post base to the concrete edge is required to achieve load ratings, and installation uses a 5/8-inch diameter anchor bolt with a minimum 4-inch embedment (anchor bolt not included). This base is not suitable for unrestrained applications such as fences; it is not designed to resist overturning or moment loads. The PAF66-TZ model meets stringent building code standards including ESR-3449 and is available in both standard G-185 galvanized and optional Gold Coat finishes. Proper installation of all specified fasteners is essential for intended structural performance and safety.
