The Oil-Dri Oil Spill Absorbent is a highly effective, mineral-based granular absorbent designed for the rapid cleanup of oil, grease, and other liquid spills. This convenient 8-pound bag is sized perfectly for residential garages, small workshops, and vehicle trunks, providing a quick response solution for accidental leaks. Made from high-quality, heat-treated clay, these granules are non-flammable and chemically inert, making them safe for use on a variety of fluids. By capturing liquids within the internal pores of the clay, this absorbent prevents staining on concrete and significantly reduces the risk of slips and falls on smooth surfaces.

For the most effective cleanup of an oil spot on concrete, pour a generous layer of Oil-Dri over the spill and use your shoe to grind the granules into the surface; this “crushing” action increases the surface area of the clay and helps pull oil out of the porous concrete. Leave the granules on the spot for at least 24 hours for heavy or old stains to allow for maximum “wicking” action. Once the granules have turned dark, they are saturated and should be swept up. To dispose of used absorbent, place it in a heavy-duty plastic bag and consult your local waste management guidelines, as the disposal method depends on the type of liquid that was absorbed.
