The ProLuxe Clear Lacquer Sanding Sealer 1 qt is the essential first step for achieving a smooth, professional lacquer finish on interior wood. This clear, lacquer-based sealer is specially formulated to dry incredibly fast and is ready for sanding in about one hour. Its primary job is to effectively seal the wood’s surface, preventing subsequent lacquer coats from soaking in unevenly and blocking most stains or tannins from bleeding through the final topcoat. It applies easily, levels itself beautifully, and sands to a fine, powder-like dust, making the preparation work fast and effortless.

Always remember that lacquer is highly flammable and requires excellent ventilation; open windows and use fans to move air across your workpiece. Before applying the final coat of lacquer, use very fine sandpaper, such as 220-grit, to lightly sand the sealed surface until it feels perfectly smooth to the touch. This step is critical for ensuring the subsequent coats of lacquer adhere properly and achieve that deep, flawless sheen. Also, ensure you do not use this under non-lacquer clear coats like polyurethane or varnish, as it can cause adhesion failure.
