Quikrete Sand Topping Mix 10 lb is a pre-blended mixture of Portland cement, graded sand, and other approved ingredients designed for repairing and resurfacing damaged horizontal concrete surfaces less than 2 inches thick. It is also suitable for large crack repairs, thick setting beds for ceramic floor tile, and filling cores in masonry block or brick. This mix provides a uniform, durable topping ideal for patching steps, sidewalks, and floors where a thin overlay is needed.

Mixing water for the 10 lb bag starts at about 1 pint (0.5 L), with a final water content between 1 and 1.5 pints (0.5 to 0.7 L) for a workable consistency. The mix can be hand mixed or mechanically mixed. For toppings less than 1 inch thick, adding QUIKRETE Concrete Acrylic Fortifier improves bond strength. The product meets ASTM C387 standards and achieves compressive strengths of about 3000 psi at 7 days and 5000 psi at 28 days when mixed and cured properly. Surfaces should be cleaned and prepared before application, removing all loose and broken concrete to ensure good bonding. The product is suitable for both professional and DIY repair work requiring durable and reliable concrete topping.
