Red Head Forged Hitch Pin is the small, mighty solution for connecting lighter implements and trailer components. This 1/2 inch by 3-5/8 inch pin is built for Grade 5 performance, meaning it’s forged and double heat-treated from high-strength steel for far better bending resistance than standard clevis pins. It provides a highly reliable, non-permanent connection for everything from lawn and garden equipment to small utility trailers. The signature red vinyl-coated handle is easy to grip and highly visible in the grass, ensuring this critical pin is easy to handle and won’t be easily lost.

When using this 1/2 inch pin, always check that the R-clip hole is positioned just outside the mounting bracket to achieve a truly secure lock. Although the red handle offers a good grip, always carry one or two spare pins in your toolbox. The smaller diameter makes these pins highly susceptible to loss in tall grass or dirt, and having a ready replacement prevents unnecessary downtime. For applications with high vibration, consider using a lanyard to tether the R-clip to the implement so it doesn’t bounce out.
