The Richelieu Aluminum Cable Ferrules & Stops 3/16” 2 pk is a small but mighty component that provides a secure, reliable termination for wire rope and cable. If you’re building a custom guardrail, creating a pet runner, or fabricating a lifting sling, these sleeves deliver a clean crimp that won’t slip under load. They feel solid and precisely machined, giving you confidence as you make your connections. Using the proper swaging tool, you can create permanent loops and stops that are incredibly strong and won’t rust, making them perfect for outdoor or high-humidity applications around the farm or home.

A common mistake we see is people trying to crimp these using standard bolt cutters or vise grips, and that just won’t work safely. To get the full holding power, you must use a dedicated cable swaging tool that applies the correct, even pressure. Make sure to crimp the ferrule two to three times, rotating the sleeve between each crimp, and always leave a small portion of the ferrule un-crimped at the ends. that’s how you know you’ve done it correctly.
