Because this bar has a “hard nose” without a sprocket, it generates more heat than a standard bar, so you should run your chain slightly looser than you would on a Rollomatic. If the chain is too tight, it will create excessive friction at the tip, which can lead to premature wear or even damage to your saw’s clutch. I also suggest keeping a flat file or a bar dresser handy to remove any small burrs that form on the rails after a few hours of hard use.
