When installing this strainer, be sure to use a minimal amount of thread sealant—only on the male pipe threads—to prevent any excess sealant from entering the line and getting caught on the screen. It is best practice to install it horizontally or with the bowl pointing downward. This allows gravity to help settle debris into the bottom of the bowl, making inspection and flushing easier without having to completely halt your spraying operation.
