Because the 14R series carries a high load, proper lubrication is even more critical. When pressing the new caps into the yoke, be careful not to damage the needle bearings or displace the grease seals. After installation, make sure to locate the zerk fitting on the cross and pump grease into the joint until you see fresh grease extrude from all four bearing seals. This confirms the new bearings are fully lubricated and ready for heavy work.
