Oil-Dri Premium Absorbent is a high-performance, clay-based granular absorbent designed to manage spills and maintain safety in automotive shops, garages, and industrial facilities. Composed of heat-treated Fuller’s Earth, these highly porous granules are engineered to quickly soak up a wide variety of fluids, including oil, grease, hydraulic fluid, water, and anti-freeze. By pulling liquids into the internal structure of the clay, the absorbent prevents the spread of spills and reduces the risk of slip-and-fall accidents. Its chemically inert nature and heavy-duty granules ensure that it remains effective even on heavy-traffic shop floors without breaking down into a muddy residue.

For maximum efficiency, apply the granules around the perimeter of the spill first to “dam” the liquid and prevent it from spreading, then cover the center of the spill completely. To accelerate the absorption process on thick fluids like heavy gear oil, use a stiff-bristle broom to work the granules into the liquid. Once the granules have changed color to a darker shade, they have reached saturation and should be swept up and disposed of according to local environmental regulations. It is also a great practice to keep a small bucket of Oil-Dri near high-risk leak areas, such as under hydraulic lifts or oil storage drums, for immediate response to accidental drips.
