To ensure a successful repair, you should use the metal scuffer to thoroughly roughen the area around the puncture until the surface is dull and clean. You should apply a thin, even layer of the vulcanizing fluid and wait for it to become “tacky” before firmly pressing the patch onto the tire. While the kit is excellent for small holes on the tread, you should avoid using it on sidewall punctures or large gashes, as these areas undergo too much flex for a patch to remain secure. It is a good practice to apply pressure from the center of the patch outward during installation to remove any air bubbles, ensuring the entire surface of the patch has made a perfect bond with the rubber.
