Beehive Foundations

Beehive foundations give your bees a head start by providing a ready-made comb template inside each frame. You’ll find options in deep, medium, and shallow sizes to match your hive boxes, and the choice between wired, plain no-wire, and plastic cell foundations matters more than most beginners expect. Wired foundations hold up better during extraction, while plasticell options in yellow, black, or green come pre-coated and need minimal prep. At Nixa Hardware & Seed Co, we carry both 8-frame and standard sizing, so make sure your foundation dimensions match your existing frames before you stock up.
