How Long Before Chicken Eggs Hatch

Standard chicken eggs take exactly 21 days to hatch under the right conditions. It’s a fascinating process where the first eighteen days are spent turning the eggs to keep the embryo from sticking to the shell. On day eighteen, you enter “lockdown,” where you stop turning them and bump up the humidity to help the chicks slide out of their shells. While some early birds might pop out on day twenty and some laggards wait until day twenty-two, the three-week mark is the gold standard. What To Feed Baby Chickens After Hatching

The most important “meal” for a new chick is actually hydration.
