AgSmart Slip Clutch Friction Disc is a critical safety and drive component designed for the PTO shaft slip clutches on rotary cutters and other implements. This 6 inch Outer Diameter (OD) friction disc provides the essential gripping surface needed to transfer power smoothly, but it is engineered to intentionally slip when the implement jams or encounters too much resistance. The precise 3.594 inch Inner Diameter (ID) ensures a proper fit into the clutch hub of many popular rotary cutter brands like Woods, John Deere, and Rhino. Replacing worn or glazed discs like this 1/8 inch thick component restores the clutch’s ability to protect your gearbox and driveline from damaging torque spikes.

Key Features of AgSmart Slip Clutch Friction Disc

6.00 inches Outside Diameter (OD) is a common standard size for rotary cutter clutches
Thickness of .125 inch (1/8 inch) ensures the clutch maintains proper spring tension
3.594 inches Inside Diameter (ID) fits precisely onto many common slip clutch hubs
Designed to withstand high heat generated during intentional clutch slippage
Restores the calibrated torque limit of the PTO driveline protecting the gearbox
Compatible with numerous rotary cutter models from manufacturers like Woods and Land Pride
A non-metallic replacement part essential for clutch maintenance and function
Should be replaced when worn, glazed, or cracked to ensure the clutch slips correctly

When replacing friction discs, always clean the opposing steel pressure plates thoroughly with a degreaser; any remaining grease or material will compromise the grip of the new disc and cause premature wear. More importantly, after installing new discs, you must re-check and correctly adjust the tension on the clutch springs using a torque wrench. If the springs are too loose, the clutch will slip constantly; too tight, and the clutch loses its protective function. Refer to your clutch or implement manual for the exact recommended spring bolt torque specification.
