FIMCO Hose Barb Poly Fitting is a small but critical adapter for plumbing agricultural sprayers and fluid systems. This is a 1/2 inch Male Pipe Thread (MPT) to 1/4 inch Hose Barb fitting, which you’ll find essential for correctly transitioning between hard plumbing and small flexible hoses. Made from precision-molded polypropylene, it offers outstanding chemical resistance against fertilizers, herbicides, and general outdoor elements. Its purpose is to create a secure, step-down connection, perfect for running small gauge tubing from a larger manifold or pump port to a pressure gauge, return line, or small nozzle, ensuring a leak-free setup.

When threading the 1/2 inch MPT end into a plastic manifold or pump housing, use hand tight plus one additional turn to avoid over-tightening, which can crack the receiving port. Unlike metal threads, polypropylene does not need to be cranked down severely to seal. Do not use PTFE tape on these connections, as it can cause over-stressing; the plastic threads are designed to seal on their own. For the 1/4 inch barb side, a small zip tie or spring clamp should be used to ensure the hose does not pop off under pressure.
