Red Head Forged Hitch Pin is the serious piece of hardware for connecting heavy implements and trailers. This 1 inch by 7-1/2 inch pin is built to Grade 5 performance standards, featuring a one-piece forged steel body that is double heat-treated for maximum tensile strength and resistance to shear. Unlike lighter pins, this one is designed to handle the heavy pull of large tractors, secure larger drawbars, or serve as the main connection on multi-shank implements. The classic red vinyl-coated handle provides a comfortable, highly visible grip, ensuring you can quickly and safely hitch up your biggest jobs.

Given the size and intended use, always apply a generous amount of chassis grease to the pin shaft before putting it into service. This lubrication reduces friction on the pin and makes it far easier to remove, which is often the biggest hassle with heavy-duty pins. The distinct red head makes it visible, but it’s still smart to attach a small chain or lanyard to the R-clip hole and anchor it to the implement. Losing a heavy pin like this in the field wastes valuable time and money.
