To achieve the best performance from this lubricant, start with a clean and dry chain; applying new lube over old, dirty grease can create an abrasive paste that accelerates wear. Apply a single drop to each roller while back-pedaling, then allow the lubricant to sit for several minutes to ensure it penetrates the internal pins. Before riding, use a clean rag to wipe any excess lubricant from the outside of the chain plates; the lubricant only needs to be on the inside of the rollers, and removing the exterior excess will significantly reduce the amount of dust and dirt the chain picks up.
