For the strongest possible bond, use a coarse sandpaper to roughen the surfaces and a degreaser like acetone to remove all oil and dirt before applying the epoxy. When mixing, ensure you combine equal parts of the resin and the hardener until the color is a uniform gray with no streaks; any unmixed material will not cure properly and will remain tacky. Because KwikWeld begins to set in just six minutes, it is best to have your parts clamped or ready for assembly before you start the mixing process. If you are working on a vertical surface, wait about two or three minutes after mixing for the epoxy to thicken slightly, which will help prevent it from sagging or dripping while it sets.
