The Stainless Steel Flat Hinge 12ga 2”x2” is a small, heavy-duty utility hinge built for applications demanding strength and superior corrosion resistance. Unlike standard residential hinges, this product has a thick 12 gauge construction and is supplied without mounting holes, making it an ideal choice for welding onto gates, heavy boxes, utility enclosures, or custom metalwork. The compact 2 inch by 2 inch size provides a secure, pivot point, and the stainless steel composition guarantees it will withstand harsh weather and moisture, such as in marine or outdoor settings, without rusting or degrading.

Since this hinge comes without fastener holes, you have two options: for a permanent joint on metal, welding provides the strongest connection. If you are bolting it to wood or composite, always use a drill press to accurately drill the fastener holes; attempting to drill 12 gauge stainless steel by hand is difficult and risks breaking drill bits. Use stainless steel carriage bolts for mounting to ensure the fastener has the same corrosion resistance as the hinge itself.
