While this dog house is sealed and weather-resistant, adding a layer of straw or cedar shavings to the interior floor during cold months is highly recommended. The raised floor helps, but insulating bedding prevents your dog’s body heat from leaching directly into the floor. Also, consider purchasing a custom-fit vinyl door flap (sold separately) to install over the off-center entrance; this will significantly increase the internal temperature retention and block nearly all wind and rain while still allowing easy access.
